212 Steakhouse - New York
This upscale Midtown restaurant fancies itself to be a modern steakhouse. Its decor is sleek and unstuffy, with the bar attracting scores of young professionals. 212 Steakhouse specializes in authentic Japanese Kobe beef, Japanese Wagyu and USDA prime beef, but also a number of non red meat dishes.
The raw bar showcases delights such as oysters on the half shell, mussels in a white wine sauce and lobster cocktail. There's also seafood risotto and whole Maine grilled lobster. But the main event is the steak program, and it's well rounded. 212 Steakhouse is the first restaurant in the East Coast certified by the Japanese Kobe Beef Council to serve authentic Kobe beef.
Select cuts of dry-aged, bone-in filet mignon, ribeye, striploin and Porterhouse are on the menu.
