Insignia Prime Steak & Sushi - Smithtown
One sign that you're in for a memorable evening at Insignia: The glossy, bilevel restaurant is located in a sprawling, historic mansion in the Hamptons. The space is decked out in splendor, from a crimson-enhanced room overlooking the main dining room to innovative light fixtures that are meant to serve as conversation pieces.
The contemporary Insignia is from Anthony Scotto, who also owns Blackstone and Rare650, and it aims to redefine what is traditionally seen as a steakhouse. Insignia follows its predecessors in that its inspired menu spotlights prime dry-aged steaks, seafood and a nice array of sushi creations.
Regular promotions are also a big draw at Insignia. For $99, two people can get a filet mignon and lobster dinner on Sundays or steak dinner (with choice of entrées, appetizer and dessert) on Tuesdays. And Thursdays are popular with after-work crowds for discounted drinks and appetizers at 6pm.
