MarkJoseph Steakhouse - New York
The clubby steakhouse concept serves as a vibrant presence in the Financial District. But MarkJoseph is more than your average steakhouse because if you cannot get to the restaurant, the butcher shop can ship its signature steaks to you--if you live on the East Coast, five boroughs, Long Island, New Jersey or Connecticut. The steaks are certified prime and aged for up to six weeks.
Those heading to the restaurant should expect a lively experience, which hasn't wavered since MarkJoseph opened in 2000. Guests may settle in at the bar or in the dining room, which is set up like a classic steakhouse with white tablecloths and hardwood accents. A number of dishes come highly recommended, from a sizzling 40-ounce Porterhouse to succulent fried pork chops with a hot pepper pan sauce.
MarkJoseph Steakhouse is near the 9/11 National Memorial, Freedom Tower, a number of hotel properties and the Brooklyn Bridge.
